Last week we presented the official name of the aka-aki game: LiftLoft! This week we will lift the curtain a little bit higher.
We invite you for another hand-on experience in Berlin. This time, we will let you discover the LiftLoft paper world ojn your own account. Or on your own iPhone. Bring an iPhone and a facebook account and we’ll install an exclusive fully functional preview version on your device (3GS or higher) before the app is available in the App store.
That’s thursday, August 19th from 7 to 8 pm at 4010 - Der Telekom-Store in Berlin-Mitte, Alte Schönhauser Straße 31 (see Facebook-event).

The Name of the Game
Our game is almost ready to leave the nest and conquer the world. As we watched it developing over the last months, it suddenly came clear: it’s a LiftLoft! That’s the new official name for our baby, the mobile location-based social game from aka-aki. And in the next days we’ll tell you why LiftLoft is fitting so well.
New Testing Round for the aka-aki Game!
We are moving forward with the aka-aki game. For a new round of beta testing we are now looking for testers again. If you have
- an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4
- iOS4 installed on it and
- a Facebook account,
you could be one of the first people in the world who can have a look and test the game on your own device. This is how it works:
Send us an email with the UDID number of your iPhone to beta@aka-aki.com. We will send you a download link and further instructions back. First come, first serve! The number of testers in this round is limited again. But 10 places on the list are exclusively reserved for you, the readers of our blog. If you heard the news here, just type “Blog” in the subject field of your e-mail (like described above). We are looking forward to this testing round!
We love Mobile! MLOVE Confestival near Berlin
There are so many conferences and events for the mobile industry. But what will happen next week near Berlin is really special and worth telling about…
The MLOVE Confestival will take place from June 23rd to June 25th in a castle (!) near Berlin. The actual location will only be revealed to registered participants.
The concept is very unique: “The event exposes the mobile industry to the best minds outside of mobile to maximize the opportunity of creating life-changing services and applications that can impact us all for the better”, the organisers say. Executives, entrepreneurs and developers will mix with architects, scientists, musicians and social entrepreneurs.
The programme focus is on interactivity, including two Open Space sessions and other interactive formats.

aka-aki game: first hands-on experience in Berlin
Last night our users were invited for the first hands-on expierence with the new aka-aki game. First great surprise of the night: the venue was air-conditioned! Everybody loved that after a sweaty day in hot and humid Berlin…
Result of the test game night: our users loved the look and the idea of the game! Everybody imediately got into it and we had a shortage of test devices because nobody wanted to give up his and stop playing.
We also learned that we have some jobs to do concerning the interface. It doesn’t “talk enough”. People are sometimes lost and don’t know what to do and where to click. But what we’ve learned last night will help us a lot with creating a tutorial and do changes in the interface elements.

The aka-aki game is almost finished. To create the best gaming experience before we launch it, it needs to be tested. And this could be your new job! We are looking for a game tester to work with us at our Berlin office.

Live today: aka-aki at the AR Business Conference
The first AR Business Conference is happening today in Berlin. It’s not only about the technical evolution. It also focuses on the implications for business, brands and markets.
You can see and hear aka-aki live at the conference today. From 2 pm CET our CEO Gabriel Yoran is discussing at a panel called “Augmented Social Networking”. Everybody who cannot make it to be there, have a look HERE. The conference is being streamed over the internet.
