A moose in good company

The aka-aki iPhone app was catapulted to the 15th 6th most popular app in the German appstore and number 2 number 1 in the social networks category. Server load increased again after the wednesday launch of the aka-aki iPhone app.

During the upgrading of our servers our users can experience problems during login, signup and usage of the app on the phone (non iPhones, too). The website should be available, but slower than normal.

Additional capacities are being rolled out right now and should be available in some hours. We’re expecting better service in the night of 22th of February (CET).

[Update 9:31 pm CET] While we’re upgrading servers aka-aki jumps from number 15 to 9 in the German Appstore charts.

We have addressed mobile login/signup issues, so they should work fine now again. Overall speed of the service will still be below average for some hours.

[Update_2 01:25 am CET] Flexo is still working on the new servers. Database replication isn’t just an awful word, but an awful thing to do.

[Update_3 Sunday 5:07 pm CET] Additional servers running now, but user number still growing rapidly. We’re now doubling our capacities once more.

[Update_4 Sunday 8:15 pm CET] Even more servers running now.
